Brooke Lovett, LICSW

Brooke has extensive experience in supporting individuals and families around serious and chronic illness and the impact of health challenges on quality of life, relationships and self-perception. In her years of work in inpatient and ambulatory health care settings, she has helped to support adults and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, challenging relationships and family dynamics, life transitions, and significant loss. She also specializes in cancer survivorship and parenting while facing illness as well as caregiver, palliative care, end-of-life and grief support.
Brooke prioritizes the therapeutic relationship most of all recognizing the importance of understanding and trust between clinician and client to create a space where the client feels safe, heard, respected, and ultimately ready to make thoughtful change. Brooke’s approach to working with individuals is varied depending on the unique challenges, strengths and goals of each client. She incorporates a blend of treatment strategies drawing from aspects of Supportive and Interpersonal Therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). Brooke’s ultimate goal with clients is to help them find the barriers they face to living their most fulfilled life and to learn strategies for healthier coping and more thoughtful and purposeful living.
Brooke received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia. She has her Master’s in Social Work from Boston University. She has spent most of her career working in acute and ambulatory medical settings at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, South Shore Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
